SUGr and Homebase
Since my last post. I have cleaned my apartment and brought it up to a very high level of functionality. I have hosted a few jam sessions in there. It has also been the launching pad for SUGr (the Symphony Underground), which has been getting press in the Northeastern News and also has a picture up on the welcome page on myneu. So now there are plenty of people who see what the Suitcase Studio is capable of.
Dedalus (the name of the prototype) is in working condition. I have been using the mixer that i bought by mistake as a regular mixer. I'll be selling it soon and using the money to get a smaller, simpler-much less expensive model. I've begun talking to Ken McKormic, an electronics teacher at LPVEC Vocational School in West Springfield, about making my own mixer. I have drawn up sketches of what my ideal mixer would look like. I've also begun looking at the prices for all of the parts. I've started talking to Andrew Loven, an entrepenur who can build computers, about building one with him. On a side note, there's exciting news that Mac's OS X operating system will be available for intel processors in the near future. Meaning, I'll be able to have a custom computer and a Mac operating system - which is ideal for audio production.
