Got all the pieces

I finally have all of the parts needed to assemble the first, honest to goodness, prototype. I have a case, a stand, a MOTU Traveler, a Mac, a Behringer PCF - 2000, a Tranzport DAW controller, speakers, a monitor, 8 mikes, 8 stands, 8 wires, and a PA speaker.

I am going home to assemble it at my father's vocational school workshop. I'll be going to a fabric store to get it properly apolstered so it looks nice. I was thinking about going to a tattoo parlor to have someone sharpie a logo of some kind on it. That might be a little down the road.

I am talking to a few people about recording gigs that they have coming up. I probably won't charge them anything because I'd be using it as sample material on a website that my roomate, andy, will help me launch ASAP. I've been thinking that I can make enough preparations to launch Suitcase Studios as a record label/recording service by September this fall.

I'm hoping that once the students return in the fall, I would be able to have enough business that it could get a good start from the get go. Also, it would give me enough time to make sure that I could handle any possible issues on top of classes.

I was, as usual, a bit ambitious with my intentions for this co-op. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to get a prototype going. I need to get going on researching for patents. I haven't done that at all yet. I'm just now reading about small business launches. I also cannot get going on hyping up a recording service until I pay off at least 2/3 of the nearly $3000 bill all this equiptment cost me. I am working with Jim Anderson to get the CEA scholarship in by June 9th. I plan on finishing it this week. That would make it possible for me to get going even sooner and maybe catch some festival gigs this summer. But until then, I'm going to find a job and try to pay off as much as possible.
